The Southern Nevada Health District puts a well-fed pigeon at about 25 pounds of droppings a year. A flock under one solar array adds up fast, and the droppings damage buildings and vehicles.

The health district lists histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis and psittacosis among the diseases pigeons can pass to people. Exposure comes from breathing dust when dried droppings are disturbed, which is why cleanup is done wet and with protection.

Clark County, the City of Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas each ban feeding wild pigeons on public or residential property. The county code calls roosting pigeons a health and property hazard. Nobody at the county or the cities removes them; that falls to the property owner.

Do you kill the pigeons?
The work is mostly exclusion: screening, spikes and netting that keep pigeons off the roof so they move on. Trapping is used when a flock is established and exclusion alone will not clear it. The provider explains which applies to your property.
Will screening the solar panels damage them or void the warranty?
Screening is clipped to the panel frame and does not drill into the panels or the roof. Ask the provider to confirm the clip type used and check your solar installer's terms if you have a workmanship warranty.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the roof height, the number of panels or the length of ledge, and whether cleanup is needed. The provider confirms the price when you book. This site does not quote prices.
Do I need cleanup too?
If there is nesting material or built-up droppings under the panels or on the AC unit, it is normally removed before the exclusion goes on. Droppings left in place keep attracting birds and keep damaging the surface.
Is it legal to remove pigeons in Nevada?
